LAFCU Donation To Help Fund Upgrades for Holt High School Band
(Delhi Township) – A $1,000 donation from the Lansing Area Federal Credit Union (LAFCU) and Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce (LRCC) will help finance much-needed equipment repairs and upgrades for the Holt High School Band. The donation was the result of a sponsorship by LAFCU of the Holt High School Band's recent performance at the Chamber's 98th Annual Dinner, which was held on February 10.
"We are very grateful to LAFCU and the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce for the opportunity for our students to perform for business leaders in the Lansing region," said Holt High School Band Director Mike Emmerson. "Not only was it a terrific experience for our band members, but the donation will be put to very good use as far as upgrades for our equipment."
This is the second year LRCC has co-sponsored a local high school band at its Annual Dinner, which was held at the MSU Wharton Center for Performing Arts. Business leaders from around the region were able to hear eight different groups of three to five Holt High School band members showcasing their talents by performing a wide variety of music.
