Investing in Michigan's Transportation Infrastructure the Subject of Lansing Regional Chamber's Economic Club Luncheon on March 19

Representatives of the State's Transportation Funding Task Force To Talk About The Need to Double Michigan's Infrastructure Spending.

Local transportation experts will talk about aspects of the State's Transportation Funding Task Force (TF2), Michigan gas tax options and the impact of stimulus infrastructure dollars on the region at the next meeting of the Lansing Chamber Economic Club.

Members of the panel recently participated in a bi-partisan transportation task force appointed by Governor Granholm. The task force concluded that Michigan must double its current investment in transportation or risk losing up to $1 billion in federal funds each year and 17,000 jobs across the state.  The Transportation Funding Task Force (TF2) also says that investing in transportation will create jobs and economic activity, attract business, increase revenue and provide better transportation services to Michigan taxpayers.
