Election Year Budget Negotiations in Focus at Annual Chambers of Commerce Legislative Dinner

Funding for K-12 education, personal property tax, roads and infrastructure, the status of Michigan’s emergency manager law and a proposed second bridge to Canada are among topics certain to be discussed at the Annual Chamber’s of Commerce Legislative Dinner on Wednesday, March 21. The Chambers of Commerce Legislative Dinner, presented by AT&T is hosted by the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce (LRCC) and includes chamber officials and business leaders from around the state.
 
“The Legislative Dinner has always featured spirited discussions about the leading issues in state government and this year should be no exception,” said Kristin Beltzer, LRCC senior vice president, government relations and public affairs.

Invited legislative panelists for the post dinner discussion include: Senate Majority Leader Randy Richardville, Senate Minority Leader Gretchen Whitmer, House Speaker Jase Bolger and House Minority Leader Richard Hammel. The event will again be moderated by long-time political pundit Tim Skubick.
 

The 2012 Legislative Dinner will be held at the Lansing Lexington Hotel. The event begins with a reception at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner and the guest panel.
