The Lansing Regional Chamber Political Action Committee’s (LRCC-PAC) “Make a difference, run for Office” Workshop will offer potential candidates for local, state and federal offices insightful training on what it takes to enter and win a race for public office.

 “This workshop is an excellent opportunity for potential candidates to learn the ins and outs of the campaign process,” said Kristin Beltzer, LRCC’s senior vice president for government relations & public affairs. “We have gathered a variety of successful officeholders who know what it takes to win, and who are willing to share that knowledge with future candidates.”

Attendees with learn how to cut through the complicated process and the paperwork.  They will also learn to file, the dates and deadlines to run, how to establish a candidate committee and how to submit campaign finance statements.

10-10:45 a.m.  How to Win!
Matt Resch, Resch Strategies
 
Attendees with learn about the tools to deliver a solid message and how to plan strategically and execute a campaign that delivers results.  They will discover the traditional and modern campaign resources that will give them an advantage over their opponents.
 
11-11:45 a.m. Understand the Commitment to Run and to Serve
Joan Bauer, State Representative
Paul Opsommer, State Representative
Jeff Hicks, Delta Township Trustee
Julie Brixie, Meridian Township Treasurer
Peter Spadafore, Lansing School Board Trustee
 
Attendees will learn how to balance their campaign with other commitments, like their families and jobs. They will be learning from those who have the experience at different levels of government and public service.
