Service Corps of Retired Executives, (SCORE), is an association of experienced business professionals who serve as volunteers/mentors for new business startups or businesses in need of specialized counseling. Sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, counseling and advice is free and can take place in the BIZ Resource center at the Chamber offices on at your own business site. SCORE can assist with areas such as:
Business planning and writing a business plan
Financial management
Record keeping and auditing
Business management
Personnel management and labor relations
Marketing, sales and advertising ideas
Engineering, technology and manufacturing
Purchasing, inventory and distribution
Production control
Information systems

Biz Resource Center
Located in the Chamber offices, the BIZ Resource Center is a partnership between the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Michigan Small Business and Technology Development Center, Lansing Community College, and the Service Corp of Retired Executives (SCORE).
The BIZ Resource Center serves existing and start-up business owners by offering access to pertinent business resources, counseling, computers, Internet and other research materials. This resource is free to members and non-members alike!
The LRCC Biz Resource Center offers a one-stop location where current and future small business owners can receive business assistance and advice along with the latest computer technology, hardware and software, and extensive small business reference library of hard copy books, and publications.
