Safety Pays as Lansing Regional Chamber Members Earn Workers Compensation Dividend of $147,999

Participating Businesses Share Workers Compensation Group Dividend from Accident Fund Insurance Company of America

161 businesses will share a $147,999 premium dividend thanks to safe work practices and their participation in a workers compensation group dividend program from Accident Fund Insurance Company of America - available through the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce (LRCC).

The dividend amount returned is based on each participant's premium costs and range from $24 to $20,000. In addition to dividend opportunities, the LRCC group dividend program offers participating businesses a five-percent discount on their workers compensation insurance premium rates. The Chamber has offered the group dividend program through Accident Fund since 1998.

Editor's Note:  LRCC will host a reception during which members who participated in the workers compensation group program will receive their dividend checks.  The reception is being held from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 5 at the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, located at 500 East Michigan Avenue, Suite 200 in Lansing.  Media coverage is encouraged.

"The Accident Fund Workers Compensation Program allows the Chamber to offer our members an opportunity to share in the rewards of encouraging safety in the workplace," said Tim Daman, LRCC president & CEO.  "This is another example of how the Chamber works to help our members more effectively control their costs."

"The program is successful because of the efforts of all participating Chamber members who continually value safety in their workplaces," said Beth Goodman, Accident Fund's Group & Association Specialist. "As an indication of those efforts, we have distributed over $1.2 million in Accident Fund dividends to participating Lansing Regional Chamber members since 2004."
