Modifications Made to MBT
Lansing Regional Chambers members are one step closer to benefiting from modifications to the Michigan Business Tax (MBT). The Michigan Senate recently passed legislation, Senate Bill1198, to alleviate the financial pain faced by medium-sized businesses that have been socked by the new MBT. However, Democrats are claiming that the entrepreneurial and small business tax credits will blow a $250 million hole in the budget. The Michigan Business Tax replaced the Single Business Tax (SBT) in 2006 and went into effect earlier this year.
