STEP: Pure Michigan State Trade Export Promotion
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and the US Small Business Administration (SBA) have provided LRCC grant funding to support a pilot export program called Pure Michigan State Trade Export Promotion (STEP). LRCC is host to the 19 county Central Michigan Regional Export Network (REN). Click here for map showing LRCC’s REN service area. The government contracting division housed at the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce (LRCC) helped tri-county businesses land over $54 million in government contracts in 2012, almost double that from the previous year. Those contracts helped create or retain 1,096 jobs in the region.
