Lansing Business Community Establishes Relationship with China's Shandong Province

The Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce (LRCC) and Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP) have announced that the two organizations have signed a memorandum of cooperation with Shandong Province in China.  The agreement resulted from a recent visit to Lansing by representatives of the Shandong Enterprise Federation, which is the economic development group representing The Shandong community.

"Shandong Province is the second largest province in China," said LRCC Vice President Operation/Economic Development, Tim Daman.  "This agreement is the beginning of what we hope will be a mutually prosperous relationship and open the door to new Chinese markets for Lansing area businesses."

The agreement between LRCC, LEAP and the Shandong Enterprise Federation establishes a relationship in the areas of information exchange, personnel training, international exhibitions and investment opportunities.  The Chinese province expects to send a delegation to Lansing in early 2009.  The Shandong Enterprise Federation has also invited business leaders from the Lansing region to sponsor a local delegation that could visit China next year.

The Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce is the largest business organization in the tri-county region, serving a business population of more than 14,000 companies.  LRCC is dedicated to making business in the region more profitable by providing programs that create new customers, enhance member visibility and create a prosperous economic environment.  LRCC members rely on four key areas to help them succeed: Business Advocacy, Business Expansion, Business Savings & Business Exposure.
