Lansing Regional Chamber CEO Tim Daman to Participate in "Building a New Michigan” Leadership Summit
Business Leaders for Michigan Hosting First New Michigan Summit in Lansing on March 11

(Lansing, MI) – Lansing Regional of Chamber of Commerce president & CEO Tim Daman will be among the panelists featured as part of the first New Michigan Summit hosted by Business Leaders for Michigan (BLM), which takes place as follows:

8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Radisson Hotel, Downtown Lansing

Tim Daman will participate in a panel discussion entitled Higher Education Marketplace, which is scheduled from 10:45 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. Panelists are expected to discuss the importance of considering colleges and universities as talent factories that are also part of the economy. The panel will be moderated by Doug Rothwell, BLM CEO. Joining Daman as panelists will be Michael Hansen, president of the Michigan Community College Association and Kenneth Nisbet, executive director of U-M Tech Transfer.

"As the home of Michigan State University, Lansing Community College and several other higher education institutions, those of us in Greater Lansing have a keen understanding of the critical role our colleges and universities play in developing talent for the 21st century economy,” said Daman. "Michigan will need 900,000 new workers with at least an associate’s degree by 2025 and we are dependent on our higher education system to help meet those needs.”
