Vice President elected 2014 President of the American Institute of Architects
(Ann Arbor) - Wayne
Chubb, AIA, has been elected as the 2014 President of the American Institute of
Architects’ Huron Valley Chapter. Chubb is a Project Manager with Hobbs+Black
Associates and has recently completed a two city block urban
redevelopment project, City Creek Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
joined the Huron Valley AIA upon completing his licensing exam and soon began
his leadership involvement. As a member Chubb has served on the board as
Treasurer and Vice President. In addition to the normal executive
board duties, he mentors architecture students, has taught as adjunct
instructor for design courses at University of Detroit Mercy and currently
serves on the Planning Commission for the City of South Lyon.
accredits his passion for architecture from the fortunate opportunity to travel
extensively as a child. This exposure to a great deal of inspiring places
and people began his pursuit in knowledge about the built environment.
Immersing himself in an architecturally diverse and rich environment inspired
him to focus on architecture.
earned his Bachelors and Masters degree in architecture from the University of
Detroit Mercy. The mandatory co-op program, an Italian study abroad program,
