Mid-Michigan Chapter of the Red Cross Announces New Disaster Program Manager

(Lansing, MI) The American Red Cross announces the appointment of Jima R. Braynon to the position of Disaster Program Manager (DPM) in the Emergency Services Department in the Mid-Michigan Chapter. His appointment will be effective, Monday, January 27, 2014.

"I am pleased to announce the appointment of Jima Braynon as the Disaster Program Manager (DPM) in the Lansing office. He will be responsible for Clinton, Eaton, Ingham, Jackson and Hillsdale Counties. Jima comes to us from the Southeast Michigan Region where he served as an Emergency Services Specialist for the past nine years. He has extensive experience with Disaster Action Team (DAT) operations and using ARC systems. He has been deployed to national assignments in a lead role in Mass Care. Jima has delivered disaster training to community organizations and municipalities and served as a Health and Safety instructor with ARC. He has a Master’s Degree in Communications from Eastern Michigan University and is a certified EMT. Jima’s experience and leadership skills will be a great asset to our team” said Joan Meinke, Regional Disaster Program Officer.

The Red Cross is committed to ensuring that every chapter – has the capacity and resources to deliver our mission in local communities. Braynon’s appointment will help to strengthen the goals and commitments the Mid-Michigan Chapter has to serve the community in times of emergency and also train and retain a strong volunteer force to support the disaster services cycle of preparing, preventing and recovering from disasters.
