*New World Flood Cuts Hair for Kids in Eaton Rapids*

/Eaton Rapids, MI/– New World Flood, a local nonprofit organization, shaves off their beards and cuts hair for the 2014 Jacquelyn Barham Challenge charity fundraiser, Wednesday, May 7, 2014, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

at Lockwood Elementary in Eaton Rapids, MI. Schools are challenged to raise funds and awareness of children facing life-threatening illnesses by simply growing out their hair and/or beard! The winning school hosts the Cut Day with Todd J. Duckett. Funds go to support kids of *The Oldham Project*, a nonprofit organization that provides great portraits of children, women and families facing life-threatening illnesses.

Todd J. Duckett, New World Flood co-founder, former Michigan State University Football All-American and 2002 1^st round draft pick of the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons. The Challenge is in honor of Duckett’s mother, Jacquelyn Barham, a former special education teacher who lost her battle with lymphatic cancer in 2000. The strength that she showed to persevere through the days of treatment motivated Duckett to create an annual activity to remind children of the importance of facing adversity.

This year’s Jacquelyn Barham Challenge Cut Day event is hosted by WLNS

TV-6 morning personality, Francesca Amiker. Local barber Jose Flores and stylist Kathleen Hass are lending their talents for the event. Rod Dibert, Jay Pulphus, and James Ramos will also assist Duckett in shaving beards and cutting hair. The event will also have music and giveaways.

New World Flood is 501c3 nonprofit organization passionate about volunteerism, whose purpose is to flood the world with service. New World Flood provides motivational speaking, volunteer training, charity events and international relief efforts.
