Public Policy Associates, Inc. Announces Ownership Change

Several Promoted as Part of New Strategic Direction

LANSING – Public Policy Associates, Inc. (PPA) announced the promotion of several staff members and a change in the ownership of the company.

PPA Vice President Colleen E. Graber and Chief Financial Officer Virginia M. Orabone have acquired an ownership interest in PPA, a respected research, evaluation, and strategic consultation firm serving public and private clients across the United States.  PPA founder Jeffrey D. Padden will remain as President.

“These changes put into place an impressive team that will lead PPA’s future growth and development,” said Mr. Padden.  “The new owners have outstanding research and business management experience, complementary capabilities that will serve PPA well.  PPA has always focused sharply on delivering the highest value to our customers, and our new owners are deeply committed to continuing that tradition.  Our other new leaders have been part of that tradition, and they bring an array of impressive skills and credentials to their new roles.  They also embody our continuing commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.”

Ms. Graber is also Director of PPA’s Education and Workforce content area, overseeing projects and staff focused on topics ranging from the Michigan Promise Zones to the national Workforce Innovation Fund.  Ms. Orabone has been the leader of PPA’s business operations since joining the company in 2005.  She is a certified public accountant with more than 35 years of business experience.

Ms. Graber and Ms. Orabone said they are excited about the company’s future.  “We have a highly talented staff whose diverse skills provide our clients with a better understanding of how to improve policies and programs,” noted Ms. Graber.  “There is no doubt in our minds that PPA is poised for growth.”

Along with the change of ownership, the firm has also adopted a new strategic design that has resulted in several promotions.  The following staff members are playing new roles:

l  David M. McConnell.  As the firm’s Director of Market Development, Mr. McConnell provides the directors and president guidance and assistance in outreach and communications.

l  Nancy McCrohan, Ph.D.  Dr. McCrohan’s new role is as PPA’s Director of Healthy Communities.  She leads staff focused on housing, health, food systems, and other related topics.
