WESTERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY/COOLEY LAW SCHOOL ARE FOCUS OF WEDNESDY, AUG. 13, ANNOUNCEMENT AT WMU
Faculty and administrators from both WMU and Thomas M. Cooley Law School will gather at WMU to announce a series of developments that will set the trajectories for both schools for years to come.
The event, which is both a news conference and a campus celebration, will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the Dean's Conference Room--Room 2150--of the Haworth College of Business' Schneider Hall.
Participants in the event will include:
• Dr. John M. Dunn, president of WMU;
• Don LeDuc, president and dean of Cooley Law School;
• Ken Miller, WMU trustee and an alumnus of both schools;
• Lawrence P. Nolan, chair of Cooley's Board of Directors and an alumnus of both schools; and
• Mitchell Zajac, current Cooley student and a two-degree WMU alumnus.
For the past year, WMU and Cooley have been actively working to implement a formal affiliation agreement between the two schools that would deepen a decade-old relationship and offer the opportunity to launch a number of significant new initiatives. The boards of both institutions approved the agreement in 2013. Since then, Cooley and WMU have been pursuing the approval of their respective accrediting bodies.
Media parking is available in the adjacent Fetzer Center parking lot. A mult box will be available for those needing audio feeds. To arrange or confirm coverage, contact Cheryl Roland in WMU's Office of University Relations at (269) 387-8412 or (269) 217-3619.
