MSUFCU startUP Loan Helps Poochie Bowl Become a Reality
Lansing entrepreneurs create product to benefit long-eared dogs

EAST LANSING, MI — MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) is pleased to announce its support of Legacy Ideas, LLC., which has helped spur growth for their innovative new product, the Poochie Bowl, and helped them open their newly-opened store, We Love Kids n Dogs.

MSUFCU provided Legacy Ideas with a startUP Loan, which helped lead to the development of the Poochie Bowl. The Poochie Bowl was created by Joe Rabideau, who wanted to design a water bowl for long-eared dogs. Its unique design is meant to keep dogs’ ears dry and help cut down on health issues that can occur as a result of consistently wet ears. In addition to the startUP Loan, the company also received support from MSUFCU through an RV loan, which helped them to market the Lansing-manufactured Poochie Bowl around the country.

The MSUFCU startUP loan provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs to take their business ideas to the next level by fostering growth and creating new ventures in the Greater Lansing area. The startUP loan is available to all MSUFCU members who have established new businesses in the past two years in the tri-county area: Ingham, Clinton, and Eaton County. For more information on the startUp loan, visit www.msufcu.org/business/business_loans.

“Having the Poochie Bowl locally funded through MSUFCU allowed it to be imagined, developed, and built here in Lansing,” said Chris Allen, Poochie Bowl’s Vice President. “MSUFCU truly wanted to see us succeed; we feel like we have the whole team on our side.”

“We’re proud to support a company so rooted in the Lansing community.” said Patrick McPharlin, MSUFCU’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “It’s great to see our members succeed in their endeavors, and we’re pleased to play a part in helping them achieve their goals and dreams.”

We Love Kids n Dogs is now open for business in the Meridian Mall in Okemos. To learn more about the Poochie Bowl or to purchase one, please visit www.poochiebowl.com.
