Strong and Gusting Wind Advisory
The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has issued a strong winds advisory through 10 p.m. tonight, as well as temperatures due to fall below freezing. The BWL has additional line and tree crews available to quickly restore power. For safety reasons, BWL overhead line crews can work to restore power in wind conditions of up to 40 miles per hour.
As of 3:15 p.m. Monday, there are 105 customers out of power throughout the BWL service territory, 71 of which were caused by a power line brought down by a falling tree limb. The BWL will work as quickly as possible to restore power to customers who may experience an outage. Click HERE for some helpful tips to know if your power goes out.
Strong and gusting winds can cause power outages and downed power lines. BWL customers should report power outages and downed lines by calling 877-295-5001, visiting the Outage Center (www.lbwl.com/outagecenter) or by using the BWL mobile app (www.lbwl.com/app). Customers can also contact the BWL to report tree limbs on or near power lines.
Updates will be posted on the BWL website (www.lbwl.com), Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/LansingBWL) and Twitter (http://twitter.com/BWLcomm).
