Flagstar Relocates Okemos Branch
Announces Michigan Makeovers Program for Okemos
TROY, Mich., Jan. 30, 2015—Flagstar Bank has announced the relocation of its branch in Okemos to a new office nearby at 1801 Grand River. Previously, the branch was located at 1754 Central Park Drive.
“The new branch offers more visibility and easier access,” said Brad Tkaczyk, manager of the office. It’s 5,800 square feet, with commercial bankers, home lenders, and financial consultants all onsite.”
A drive-up ATM has replaced the walk-up service at the previous branch and an extra lane was added for drive-up banking.
Flagstar is celebrating the grand opening with a new community program called Michigan Makeovers.
The program awards a $5,000 grant to a local revitalization project. The public nominates projects via MIMakeovers.com, a Flagstar panel then selects three projects as finalists, and the public votes for its favorite project online or at the Okemos branch.
“We’re thinking typical projects might be lighting or landscaping for a downtown area, a community garden, or a bike path—things like that,” Tkaczyk said. “It’s a way for us to make an impact in the community that lives on after our branch opening.”
Nominations for Okemos makeovers can be submitted until Feb. 18, with the voting period from Feb. 24 to March 10.
Hours at the Okemos branch are Monday and Friday, 9 a.m.–6 p.m., Tuesday–Thursday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
