Details: By November 1, 2015, the greater Lansing region will have 16 new pieces of public art including 6 bike racks and a mural as a direct result LEAP’s Public Art for Communities grant program. In 2012, LEAP put a program in place to grant communities funding to produce pieces of public art once the community put a policy regarding public art in place through the community’s governance.
Thus far, the cities of Mason, East Lansing, St. Johns, and DeWitt as well as Meridian, DeWitt, Delhi, Delta townships have been awarded one of these $10,000 grants funded by LEAP. In 2015, the three additional communities will receive funding from LEAP as well as PNC, which has contributed $10,000 to this yearly program.
