FAITH Catholic to launch largest circulation diocesan publication

Diocese of Cleveland joins Lansing-based publisher with 230,000-circulation magazine

LANSING – FAITH Catholic, the nation’s leader in publishing for dioceses, announced that the Diocese of Cleveland has joined its publishing group with a first issue slated for October 2015. The Northeast Ohio Catholic magazine will reach every household in the Diocese of Cleveland six times per year. With a circulation of more than 230,000, it will be the nation’s largest-circulation diocesan publication.

“We are thrilled to work with the Diocese of Cleveland and publisher Bishop Richard Lennon,” said Patrick M. O’Brien, president and CEO of FAITH Catholic. “Among Bishop Lennon’s top goals are communication and evangelization. FAITH’s approach is uniquely proven to help bishops reach Catholics in their dioceses.”

With the addition of the Diocese of Cleveland, the three largest-circulation diocesan publications in the country now publish with FAITH Catholic. The total annual combined circulation of all FAITH client titles now tops 1.5 million. One in 5 Americans receiving a diocesan publication receives a magazine from FAITH Catholic.

“The diocesan membership magazine represents a new era for the diocesan press. Before FAITH Catholic, the diocesan press had been in decline. Diocesan newspapers are still in decline,” O’Brien said. “However, more than two dozen dioceses have adopted FAITH Catholic’s approach, which focuses on evangelization and formation. Because of FAITH Catholic, more dioceses are publishing now than 10 years ago, and because of that, more Catholics are receiving a diocesan publication,” O’Brien said.

“Only 23 percent of Catholics attend Mass every week,” O’Brien said. “Given this reality, most client bishops are finding that with FAITH Catholic, they can affordably and effectively reach every Catholic home. FAITH tests each client magazine with a readership audit: 81 percent of readers find these publications interesting and 2/3 spend at least 15 minutes with an issue.”

To help dioceses communicate daily changing news, FAITH offers companion websites, apps, social media services and more so that readers can easily consume and share content in multi-media formats.

FAITH Catholic’s flagship publication, FAITH magazine, was launched in the Diocese of Lansing in 2000. In 2004, FAITH began publishing services. Today, FAITH Catholic offers publishing services for diocesan and Catholic organizations, as well as an array of liturgical and parish products, web design and hosting, digital and mobile apps, and full-service marketing and communications consultation.
