(Lansing, MI) – A new community leadership initiative announced earlier this year by the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce (LRCC) has achieved full enrollment. Leadership Lansing has 35 enrollees, exceeding its goal of 30 participants in its first annual cohort commencing in October 2015.
“We are pleased by the interest and response shown by the business community in Leadership Lansing,” said Tim Daman, LRCC president and chief executive officer. “We identified a need in the community to help develop the next generation of community leaders. It is exciting to see a broad cross-section of organizations enroll employees they view as the emerging leaders in their company and the region.”
Leadership Lansing will be an eight-month program in which participants will engage in seven workshops, at which they will be exposed to key institutions, industry sectors and business leaders that are the fabric of the Greater Lansing region. The opening dinner/workshop on October 12 & 13 will focus on the history of the Lansing region and offer participants an in-depth opportunity to understand their own personal leadership strengths. Future workshops will focus on the role of government, education, healthcare, entrepreneurism, finance, insurance, arts and culture, as well as several other key sectors of the regional economy. Each workshop will be highlighted by a presentation from a high-profile leader who will share their perspective on leadership.
Leadership Lansing will be facilitated by credentialed coaches and certified leadership instructors, Susan Combs, MBA, PCC of Susan Combs Coaching and Consulting, and Ross Woodstock, ACC of Kolt Communications, Inc.
