EAST LANSING, MI — On Sunday, September 13, 2015, MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) was proud to join the Greater Lansing community at the Lansing State Capitol in supporting the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Credit Union volunteers participated by walking at the event, helping out with the kids’ table, and donating to the cause. Team MSUFCU raised $680, contributing to the walk’s total of over $164,000.

Funds raised from the event will go toward the Alzheimer’s Association, whose mission is “to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.”

April Clobes, MSUFCU President and Chief Executive Officer, commented, “We’re proud to have employees who are passionate about making a difference by supporting a cause that impacts many people. It’s an honor to have the opportunity to stand alongside the families and individuals affected by Alzheimer’s in hopes of one day finding a cure.”

MSU Federal Credit Union, the world’s largest university-based credit union, offers a full range of personal — and business-related — financial services to Michigan State University and Oakland University faculty, staff, students, alumni association members, and their families worldwide in addition to a variety of select employee groups. Founded in 1937 by a few MSU professors and employees, MSUFCU has 15 branches, over 205,000 members, more than $2.9 billion in assets, and over 640 employees. MSUFCU was named 2014 Credit Union of the Year by the National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU), and the #1 employer in the large-employer category in the 2014 Top Workplaces list by the Detroit Free Press.
