Barbara Krejcik of North Winds Heating and Cooling, Inc. Selected as 2016 ATHENAPowerLink Recipient

 

The Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce (LRCC) has announced that Barbara Krejcik, president of North Winds Heating and Cooling, Inc., has been selected as the 2016 recipient of the prestigious ATHENAPowerLink® (APL) award. As the APL recipient, Krejcik will be connected to a panel of expert mentors who will be consulting with her on business growth strategies over the next 12 months. Since 2006, APL has helped women business owners in Greater Lansing grow their sales, business and personal net income, the number of employees in the business, and enhance their leadership and management skills.

 

“I am honored to have been selected as the 2016 recipient of the ATHENAPowerLink award,” said Krejcik. “We have prided ourselves on always doing the right thing for our customers and team members and it is my hope that working with my panel of mentors we can develop good strategies that will enable us to take our business to an exciting new level.”

North Winds Heating and Cooling offers an extensive line of Trane and Amana energy efficient heating and cooling products for residential and commercial clients. They also carry a wide variety of heating/cooling system enhancements such as filters, humidifiers, whole house air cleaners, programmable thermostats, surge protectors, air conditioner covers and carbon monoxide detectors.

 

APL is a national business mentoring program connecting women-owned businesses with a skilled advisory panel that provides strategic consultation services for one year. The consulting services are valued at over $25,000. Women business owners seeking mentoring support through APL program must meet the following criteria:

  • 51% of the business is owned and actively managed by a woman or women;
  • At least two years in operation;
  • At least two full-time employees, including the applicant;
  • At least $250,000 in annual gross revenues for manufacturing or retail business; or at least $100,000 in annual gross revenues for a service business; and
  • Clearly defined business objectives and specific reasons for seeking an Advisory Panel.
