(Lansing, MI) – The Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce (LRCC) has announced a major new talent initiative to recognize the continued contributions of established business leaders who transition to new ventures in their careers. The program, known as PEAK, (Passion, Experience, Achievement & Knowledge) will celebrate individuals who represent these characteristics in making our region a better place to live. The Chamber is pleased to partner with Created to C owners John and Joni Sztykiel and AARP Michigan on this new initiative.

“There are so many outstanding business leaders who have been successful in their careers and then seek a new direction life in which they continue to make a significant contribution in the region,” said LRCC president and chief executive officer Tim Daman. “Talent is the number one economic driver and we believe it goes beyond just young professionals. It is time we recognize the vast impact of many individuals in our community.”

PEAK will recognize business leaders who are leveraging their experience, wealth and knowledge to start new businesses, invest in the community and make a difference in the lives of others.

“Many successful business leaders transition from one successful career and continue to create a better world through business creation, mentoring, volunteerism, etc. as they simply just make it happen,” said John and Joni Sztykiel. “Wisdom and passion are very powerful. We need to recognize and celebrate these significant contributions as talent and impact are ageless.”

“Our region needs to cultivate and capitalize on the talents of our leaders as they determine a new purpose and direction in life and business,” said Paula Cunningham, state director of AARP Michigan.  “Developing solutions and driving success simply evolves from one venture to the next.”

Specific details of the PEAK Initiative will be announced in the near future.
