Lansing, MI –Mystic Lake YMCA Camp’s Executive Director, Ricky Wright, was selected from a group of over 4,000 other graduates to receive the 2014/15 Distinguished Alumni Award by the faculty of the Recreation Parks and Leisure Services Administration Department at Central Michigan University. Only 20 awards of this kind have been granted since the Department’s beginning almost 50 years ago.
Ricky Wright has served on the Advisory Board for the Department of Recreation Parks and Leisure at CMU since 2006 and has been a member of the scholarship selection committee during this time. He was also recently asked to guest lecture presenting nonprofit work in the recreation field to students in the University’s RPL 118 class. This class is an introductory level course helping students determine if the field of recreation is right for them. This is only one of many times Ricky has guest lectured for this department.
