President of Harvest Creative assumes Chairman position, new members and programming added

LANSING, MI – Steve Curran, President and Creative Director of Harvest Creative Services has been named as Board Chairman of the Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP) Board of Directors for 2016. Additionally, LEAP welcomes seven new members of the Board of Directors in 2016. Along with new programming, these announcements will enable LEAP to have the strongest year yet for the Lansing region’s growing economy.

“As Chairman, I intend to continue the momentum established by LEAP as one of the State’s top economic agencies helping families and businesses. I look forward to continuing to work closely with LEAP’s Board of Directors, the Executive Leadership team, and the phenomenal staff. LEAP is aggressively moving forward and striving to place our global region at the top of economic development charts in the state and the nation,” said Steve Curran.

Steve Curran is President and Creative Director of Harvest Creative Services, an advertising agency, and is a longstanding board member of LEAP. He is a powerful advocate for small business, and an entrepreneurial leader of the community's conversation around arts and entertainment as an attractor to the region.

Curran oversees all aspects of business operations, creative development, and strategy for a growing list of global clients. He studied Business and Telecommunications at Towson State University, is a past President of The Lansing Advertising Club, former 6th District Chairman of the American Advertising Federation, a board member of The Michigan Advertising Industry Alliance in Detroit and board member and 2016 board chair of the Lansing Area Economic Partnership. Also noteworthy, Steve was recognized as Entrepreneur of The Year by the Greater Lansing Business Monthly in 2010, and the company earned recognition as Small Business of the Year by the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce in 2015.

In addition to Curran serving as the Board Chairman for 2016, LEAP also will welcome seven new investors to the Board of Directors. The new members include Ayers Basement Systems, The Dart Bank, Gillespie Group, MacKenzie Companies, Robert W. Baird & Co., T.A. Forsberg Development, and Windsor Charter Township.

“LEAP is only able to conduct its incredible growth work for the Tri-County area through the support of our investors’ membership. LEAP investors have allowed us to become one of the most effective economic development agencies in the State and the Midwest, which is what the Lansing region deserves. Since 2012, LEAP projects by the private sector have created $850M in investment and over 3,600 jobs,” said Bob Trezise, President and CEO of LEAP. “Thank you to the LEAP investors and to the executive leadership for their guidance throughout the last 9 years.”

New programming that LEAP will be actively working on this year consists of an aggressive accelerator industry strategy surrounding the National Superconducting Cyclotron and the Facility for Rate Isotope Beams, the launch of the Lansing PROTO product startup accelerator program, as well as an active EB-5 foreign investment initiative.
