Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce commends Mayor Virg Bernero for calling for a moratorium on unregulated medical marijuana provisioning centers

The following statement can be attributed to Eric Dimoff, Marketing and Communications Director, Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce:

“The Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce (LRCC) commends Mayor Bernero for listening to Lansing business owners, community leaders and residents, and taking action by calling for a moratorium on any new medical marijuana provisioning centers at this time. Our members have overwhelmingly expressed concerns regarding the lack of proper regulations and licensing of medical marijuana provisioning centers operating throughout the city. We urge the Lansing City Council to adopt a moratorium in order to establish an updated licensing and zoning ordinance that provides common sense regulations that focus on safe access for patients, quality provisioning centers, strong enforcement of zoning policies, a vigorous application process, testing of products, and appropriate fees to effectively enforce the ordinance.”
