Have you ever wondered what you’re going to wear to your next job interview? Now you can help make that decision easier for youth who are starting a new chapter in their lives.
On June 13, Highfields is hosting their 36th Annual Golf Outing at Forest Akers West. There they will carry on the tradition of a live auction to support a need within the organization.
The theme of the live auction this year is “Dressed for Success.” It will raise funds for a new outfit for the students to have when they complete their program at Highfields and return back into the community. The new outfit consists of a button-up shirt, pants, belt and shoes. The outfits will be purchased from Barrett’s clothing store in Williamston, Michigan, which is owned by Rich Martin, a former board member and longtime supporter of Highfields.
The hope is to provide a professional outfit for each student to have for their next step after Highfields; whether that is a job interview, higher education, or trade school.
“It is important for our students to be prepared for their future,” said Highfields’ CEO/President, Brian Philson, “and the “Dressed for Success” auction will be a great way for us to help them be ready for this next phase in their lives.”
Last year, Highfields’ “Fund a Need” Auction was successful in raising $2,100 toward basketball uniforms for the residential students’ basketball team.
