“Building A Thriving Community (Workplace)” Michigan Wellness Council Worksite Wellness Meeting

8:00 am - Registration, continental breakfast and networking
8:30 am – to 10:00 am featuring a presentation by Roy Zuidema, Director of Campus Wellness – Healthy Habits Programming, Calvin College

 

Presentation Objectives: As a wellness professional – or maybe someone desiring to implement wellness strategies in your workplace – what would you do if you had a) administrative support for your work, b) the flexibility and authority to control programming, c) a network of wellness ambassadors, d) outstanding facilities, and e) a community of workers with a similar set of values? Welcome to Calvin College! After 25 years providing corporate wellness services in West Michigan, Roy Zuidema took a position at his alma mater as director of “Healthy Habits,” the college’s employee wellness program. This presentation will highlight the successes and challenges of a comprehensive worksite wellness program at a faith-based, academic institution, with emphasis on building a thriving community in the workplace.
