Greater Michigan Construction Academy names vice president of workforce development and training

The Greater Michigan Construction Academy (GMCA) Executive Board of Director’s announces it has promoted Stephanie Davis to the position of Vice President of Workforce Development and Training. Stephanie has served The Greater Michigan Construction Academy as Director of Education for the past year and a half and will immediately assume the role of Vice President. As Vice President Stephanie will direct, develop, and implement GMCA training and education programs & staff including craft, apprentice, management, supervisory, leadership and safety training programs in all training sites. Additionally, Stephanie will work with partnered high schools, community groups, economic development corporations, government entities and other associations to enhance the public image of the commercial construction industry and the available career opportunities.

The Greater Michigan Construction Academy is a fully federally accredited vocational training academy and the first of its kind to earn an .EDU designation.  With offices in Midland & Lansing; and training partners in Onaway, Michigan (The Greater Michigan Construction Academy Northern Michigan); Saginaw Township Schools, 5 Midland County Schools, Frankenmuth Schools and Wolgast Corporation; over 400 apprentices or pre apprentices are being instructed in NCCER curriculum, a national certified program for Skilled Trades in Commercial Construction.
