LAFCU employee Teri Krupa, of Eaton Rapids, has been honored as the first Eaton Rapids Business Employee of the Year by the Eaton Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce (ERACC).
“We created this award to recognize individuals who excel in their roles, whether by bringing a positive attitude to the workplace, performing at a high level, or taking on added responsibilities to help both themselves and the business grow,” said Teresa Pienta, ERACC executive director. “Teri and future honorees should know they represent the best of Eaton Rapids – not only on behalf of their employer, but also on behalf of our community. Their good deeds are not going unnoticed.”
Krupa has been with LAFCU for more than four years, starting as a teller and moving up to senior member services representative. She was nominated for the award by Polly Cornish, LAFCU Eaton Rapids/Mason branch manager.
“Teri is one of those special people you know will always have your back, do what needs to be done and do it all with a smile,” Cornish said. “She is first to step up when her co-workers need help, and she makes an extra effort to know each of our members by name and make them feel part of the LAFCU family. She is a positive role model and an asset to LAFCU and our community.”
In the nomination form submitted by Cornish, she wrote that Krupa readily and often volunteers to assist with local events in Eaton Rapids, such as “Urban Air” and the “Hometown Christmas Parade,” and with her daughter’s Girl Scout troop. Krupa also eagerly stepped up to support LAFCU’s first “Spread the Kindness” initiative last summer, which included delivering gift cards throughout the community and gift baskets to the elderly at a Mason retirement home.
Krupa was presented the award on Friday, May 13, during the Eaton Rapids Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner at the English Inn.
