Experience the new interactive Throwing Things exhibit at Impression 5 Science Center
Wednesday, July 27, 2016
After over 15 years of using a prototype exhibit, Impression 5 Science Center, with generous and enthusiastic support from local software company TechSmith (the makers of Snagit and Camtasia), has fabricated an entirely new and improved Throwing Things exhibit that’s perfect for the high-energy enthusiasm of summertime.
With a joint passion for introducing STEM and STEAM concepts to young children and families, Impression 5 Science Center and TechSmith are excited to present Throwing Things to the community. Inspired by TechSmith’s Coach’s Eye instant video analysis technology, the exhibit demonstrates an exciting and meaningful connection to potential and kinetic energy through interactive components that allow you to hurl, project, throw, and explode! Designed, prototyped, fabricated, and installed entirely at the Science Center, Throwing Things represents local talent and ingenuity, a legacy of partnership, and the importance of early exposure to science discovery and inspiration.
Impression 5 Science Center is a hands-on space for students and families to play, create, and challenge their understanding of science. Located in downtown Lansing, the Science Center is open to the public Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 5:00 p.m. For admission prices and more information, visit impression5.org.
