YMCA of Metropolitan Lansing launches Healthy Living Mobile Kitchen

The YMCA of Metropolitan Lansing will launch its new Healthy Living Mobile Kitchen at a press conference on Thursday, Aug. 11. A bus transformed into a mobile kitchen will be unveiled with the purpose of feeding and educating children and families in the tri-county area.

DETAILS: In an effort to continue its mission of serving the local community, the YMCA of Metropolitan Lansing has officially launched its Healthy Living Mobile Kitchen. Guest speakers will discuss the impact of the feeding program on the tri-county area as well as new educational opportunities offered through the bus’s programming.
Following the speakers, the media is invited to tour the new 54 passenger handicap accessible bus that has been retrofit with a demonstration kitchen which will serve meals to children year-round in partnership with the Lansing School District’s food vendor SodexoMAGIC and the Greater Lansing Food Bank. The bus has been donated by Kellie Dean of Dean Transportation.
