Piper & Gold Public Relations, a boutique agency in Old Town, Lansing, is rounding out the summer with a new addition to the team — Account Strategist Alyssa Sturm.
Sturm was previously an assistant account executive at Finn Partners, an award-winning public relations firm in Detroit. There she worked with clients like Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and helped launch Little Caesars Arena with Olympia Development of Michigan, providing both media relations and social media support.
Sturm graduated from Michigan State University in May 2015 with a degree in advertising and a specialization in public relations. She served as president and vice president of recruitment for the Public Relations Student Society of America MSU chapter and completed internships at the Governor’s Executive Office, Michigan Fitness Foundation and MSU College of Music.
In Sturm’s new role as account strategist, she provides additional project management and tactical support for the team. She recently joined the Central Michigan Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, serving as co-chair of the New Professionals Committee.
“I’m looking forward to the experiences and expertise Alyssa brings, not only to Piper & Gold and our clients, but to our community,” says Kate Snyder, principal strategist and owner of Piper & Gold.
Community involvement and giving back are important values at Piper & Gold. Through their service on committees and boards throughout the Lansing area, as well as their pro bono work with local organizations, the staff strives to make an impact in the community both with their clients and on their downtime.
With an emphasis on nonpartisan government organizations, nonprofits, associations and small businesses, Piper & Gold focuses on traditional public relations with a digital twist. The agency assists clients with communications strategy and planning, media relations, social media and serving as an extension of its clients' teams.
