DK Security looks to the future with the appointment of new senior vice president

DK Security, a Grand Rapids-based security operations and investigations firm, today announced the appointment of Retired Grand Rapids Chief of Police, Kevin Belk as Senior Vice President. Chief Belk will be responsible for overseeing DK Security’s Armed Division, Investigations and Special Operations.
Chief Belk joins DK Security with an extensive background in law enforcement. He climbed through the ranks at the Grand Rapids Police Department, beginning in 1980 as a patrol officer. With consistent promotions, he also held the positions of Police Sergeant, Police Lieutenant, Commander of the Investigative Division, and Police Captain. In September of 2007, he was named Acting Police Chief and appointed to the position of Police Chief in February of 2008. Mr. Belk served as Chief of Police for Grand Rapids until his retirement in 2014. During his tenure as Police Chief, serious crime dropped 38% in the City of Grand Rapids.
