Peckham Community Partnership Foundation hosts October Speaker Series

Pulitzer Prize winning journalist, author and speaker Ron Suskind on autism
The Peckham Community Partnership Foundation will host its bi-annual Speaker Series featuring Ron Suskind, Pulitzer Prize winning journalist, author and speaker, and his son Owen Suskind.
The Suskinds will share their family story of Owen’s twenty-year journey to learning how to communicate through Disney animation. Owen who has autism, did not speak for years until he began to memorize Disney movies and turned them into a language to express himself.
On Tuesday, October 4, there will be a morning session from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and an afternoon session from 2 to 3 p.m. There will also be a film screening of “Life Animated!” the documentary of Owen Suskind’s journey at 5:30 p.m. Sessions and the film screening are free and open to the public and will take place at Peckham Inc., 3510 Capital City Blvd.
