Spring Arbor University is honored to announce that Dr. Michael Buratovich, a professor of biology at SAU, has recently published the second edition of Salem Health: Cancer, a medical encyclopedia consisting of four volumes. He served as co-editor of the publication and authored many of the articles, incorporating the talent and skills of Spring Arbor University students, faculty and alumni.
Along with help from co-editor Dr. Laurie Jackson-Grusby of Harvard Medical School, Buratovich contributed many new improvements to the current articles and added approximately 100 new articles to the collection. Gale Reference Reviews writes, “This comprehensive collection offers concise, current information on a broad array of topics related to cancer. … Great care has been taken to describe complicated medical topics in everyday language.” Buratovich received assistance from Spring Arbor University students with writing and editing for the encyclopedia, as well as full articles from SAU alumna Paige Hall and SAU Department of Biology and Chemistry Chair Dr. Bruce Baldwin.
Gale Reference Reviews hails the work as “highly recommended for high school, public and college libraries.”
