Resch Strategies hopes to grow Greater Lansing’s next generation of leaders through its scholarship program
Resch Strategies, a Lansing-based public relations and public affairs firm, is now accepting applications for its Leadership Lansing Scholarship. The scholarship, in its third year, is for leaders of nonprofit organizations in the Greater Lansing area who wish to attend the Greater Lansing Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Lansing 2017-18 program. The recipient of the scholarship will have the program tuition of $1,950 covered. Members of the community can also nominate an organization as well.
“We created this scholarship because we want the Greater Lansing area to grow and develop the next generation of leaders from all sectors of the community,” said President of Resch Strategies, Matt Resch. “Having worked with nonprofit clients, we understand that resources are tight and extra money for new programing is never just lying around.”
The Leadership Lansing program was established in 2015 and is an eight-month program where participants attend seven workshops from October to May. Workshop themes are centered on levels of leadership influence, education, healthcare, home-grown entrepreneurship, engagement and quality of life in the region, and creating a vision for the future.
"As the founder and executive director of The Davies Project for Mid-Michigan Children, I have appreciated the opportunity to reach beyond the non-profit world to better understand the business underpinnings of Greater Lansing,” said Pamela Miklavcic, a 2016-17 recipient of the scholarship. “I have also enjoyed working and learning alongside Lansing's future business leaders and am excited about the countless collaborative possibilities that have emerged from this program."
Applications are due by July 1, 2017 with decisions being made and the winners chosen by July 30. Applications can be submitted at http://www.reschstrategies.com/scholarship-form.
