On Wednesday, July 26 at the Ingham County Family Center, five students walked across the stage to receive their high school diplomas in front of a proud audience of family, friends and support staff.

Highfields' Program Director of Ingham Academy, Sharlein Rose, works closely with the students throughout the school year and helps them overcome adversities to achieve their goals.

“The Ingham Academy graduating class of 2017 may be a small group, but the amount of potential and dedication from this small group is huge!” said Rose.

Ingham Academy helps “high risk” students earn high school diplomas while learning life skills, social skills, and gaining work experience. Students are taught on a no fail program, completing classes at their own pace.

Ingham Academy began in 2007 as a collaboration between Highfields, Ingham County Circuit Court, Ingham Intermediate School District, and Peckham Industries. Ingham Academy is millage funded. For more information, visit: www.inghamisd.org/academic-services/specialeducation/inghamacademy/.
