Community Spreads Holiday Cheer to Highfields’ Clients

The holiday season is a tough time for many of the families in Highfields’ counseling and support programs. Thanks to the generosity of the mid-Michigan community, the holidays were brighter this year.

Highfields’ Holiday Toy Drive, sponsored by WLNS, helped bring in over 270 donations of toys, books, and clothing items for children and families.

This was Highfields’ 13th Annual Toy Drive which takes place every year around Thanksgiving. Highfields’ therapists wrap and deliver the toys to clients in time for the holidays.

In addition, thanks to a collective effort from our board of directors, Maner Costerisan, and a special donor, every teenager involved in our counseling programs received a $20 gift card.

The Maner Costerisan team also “adopted” residential students’ families and bought holiday gifts for the boys to take to their families.

“Highfields is blessed to have corporate partners like Maner Costerisan and a caring community that supports our work with children and families,” said Brian Philson, Highfields’ CEO and President. “It is because of them that we can serve families so effectively.”

Highfields is a nonprofit human services organization which provides home-based counseling services, a residential treatment facility, and experiential education and support programs for children, youth, and families in 13 mid-Michigan counties.
