The Salvation Army Capital Area Encourages Community to Love Your Neighbor

February is the month of love. At The Salvation Army Capital Area, love lies at the core of our mission as we seek to provide for the urgent human needs of our neighbors in Ingham, Eaton and Clinton counties throughout the year. One major area of need in our communities that only The Salvation Army provides are personal needs items such as shampoo, soap, toilet paper, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, diapers, baby wipes and more.

Because The Salvation Army is the sole provider of these essential personal needs products in our region, we haven’t been able to keep up with the demand. That’s why we need the community’s help.

During the month of February, The Salvation Army is encouraging our neighbors to donate new personal needs items during the month of February. All donations can brought to either The Salvation Army location: 525 N. Pennsylvania, Lansing, MI 48912 or 701 W. Jolly Road, Lansing, MI 48910 by March 2.

By donating an essential personal needs item, you are loving your neighbors. With the public’s support, The Salvation Army can continue to love our neighbors throughout the coming year.

A list of essential personal needs items needed will be listed on The Salvation Army Capital Area’s website at www.salansing.org/ If you have questions, you may contact Major Pat Irvine at 517-484-4424, Ext. 12 or email her at Pat_Irvine@usc.salvationarmy.org

About The Salvation Army Capital Area

The Salvation Army serves the Capital area with the largest Christmas assistance program in the tri-county region. Every year, numerous individuals and families, who may not otherwise have the means to celebrate Christmas, are provided with food and/or toys for the holidays. In addition to this assistance, individuals and families are also provided with access to the other programs The Salvation Army offers such as: food assistance, personal needs, baby items, haircuts, community meals, utility assistance, mortgage/rent assistance and church events.
