Hire your Chamber!

The phrase "hire your Chamber" sounds a bit strange, doesn’t it? Traditionally, businesses have been asked to “join” their local Chamber of Commerce, but each member receives so much more when they decide to make an investment in membership.

The Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce (LRCC) stands ready and waiting to support our members in a variety of ways. We provide assistance and services for our members and the residents of Greater Lansing, many of which they might not be able to do alone. Your Chamber investment provides you with benefits, resources and services that far outweigh the membership cost, especially when you view the Chamber as a vendor or department within your organization.

Let me explain. You might hire an outside company or task a department in your organization to do the following:

  • Drive business growth and economic investment
  • Market your company and its products and services to the Chamber membership and beyond
  • Promote the Lansing region as a first-rate community to live, work and thrive
  • Protect your interests in local, state and national policy discussions that may affect your business, clients and community

In all of these functions and beyond, LRCC is proud to serve as a department – or a partner – of every member and business professional in our region.

When you think of membership through that lens, the phrase “hiring your Chamber” seems much more logical. I encourage you to think of your membership investment in those terms. When you decide to cut that check and join, you are hiring the Chamber, its team, our valuable connections and numerous products and services to become part of your business toolkit.

A Chamber membership isn’t a contribution or a gift, it’s an investment in the continued success of not only your business but for the entire Greater Lansing business community.

As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Chamber team should you have any questions or if we can be of any assistance. We are always happy to help!

Michelle Rahl is the Director of Business Development at the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce.
