Service Corps of Retired Executives, (SCORE), is an association of experienced business professionals who serve as volunteers/mentors for new business startups or businesses in need of specialized counseling. Sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, counseling and advice is free and can take place in the BIZ Resource center at the Chamber offices on at your own business site. SCORE can assist with areas such as:

• Business planning and writing a business plan
• Financial management
• Record keeping and auditing
• Business management
• Personnel management and labor relations
• Marketing, sales and advertising ideas
• Engineering, technology and manufacturing
• Purchasing, inventory and distribution
• Production control
• Information systems
