Tim Daman Named President & CEO of the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce

A search committee of the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce (LRCC) Board of Directors has extended an offer to current LRCC executive Tim Daman to become the next Chamber President & CEO. Daman's selection followed a national search that resulted in more than 80 candidates expressing interest in the position.

Tim Daman has done an outstanding job for the Lansing Regional

Chamber," said LRCC Board Chair Charles Blockett Jr.  "He has

worked tirelessly in his efforts to advance economic development

initiatives in the region and is respected by the staff, board

members and leaders in our community.  We are certain that Tim

will make an outstanding leader for the Lansing Chamber and our

            community at large."

"I am honored to have been chosen to lead this great organization,"

said Daman.  "I look forward to working with the Chamber team and

others in the community to help move our region forward."

Daman joined the Chamber in September 2005 as Vice President

of Economic Development. His exceptional marketing savvy and

global contacts have been instrumental in regional business

attraction and retention efforts.  He also helped pull together a

regional coalition that funded the Pollina Study, a 2006 economic

assessment of the Lansing region.  In June of 2007, Daman was

promoted to his current position as LRCC Vice President of

            Operations/Economic Development.

"It has been a rewarding process for all of us on the search

committee to realize how valued the job as President of the

Lansing Chamber of Commerce is in the eyes of others in

our community and around the country," said LRCC Board

Chair Elect John Truscott. " It is equally rewarding to have

discovered that the best leader for our organization at this

time is an individual we already have in our midst."

Ken Glickman of Gilbert Tweed Associates served as consultant

            for the LRCC search committee.
