MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) is pleased to announce its 2020 charity partners, chosen by employees. Each year, Credit Union employees work together to support local charities throughout the various communities MSUFCU serves. Employees raised $245,014 for their selected 2019 charity partners, and are looking forward to this year’s fundraising efforts.

Credit Union employees will raise funds and awareness for: Capital Area United Way and Helping Women Period, both in Lansing; HQ Runaway and Homeless Youth Drop-In Center in Kent County; and Oakland County Animal Shelter.

Capital Area United Way (CAUW) is MSUFCU’s ongoing charity partner; they support programs and services in Greater Lansing. The CAUW’s mission is to unite people and resources to solve defined problems and improve the quality of life for individuals and families.

Helping Women Period (HWP) provides feminine hygiene products to homeless and low-income youth and young adults in Greater Lansing. The organization partners with local schools, and attends local events to offer free items with discretion in beautiful, handmade bags.

HQ Runaway and Homeless Youth Drop-In Center in Grand Rapids helps youth ages 14-24 who are living in unsafe or unstable housing. HQ offers free basic resources, including laundry facilities, warm meals, and showers. Youth are also connected to community resources, including case management support, counseling, housing, and help with job readiness skills.

Oakland County Animal Shelter has been helping animals since 1980. It provides shelter and care to more than 4,000 animals a year. It attempts to reunite animals with their owners or find them new, loving homes. The shelter also participates in local pet adoption events and provides education on responsible pet ownership.
