The City of Lansing and the Capital Area United Way have partnered to mobilize the community and local resources to reach those in crisis amid the COVID-19 Pandemic. Teresa Kmetz, president of the Capital Area United Way together with Mayor Andy Schor from the City of Lansing are asking for everyone to come together and donate to the One Lansing Fund.
The One Lansing Fund will support the Capital Area United Way Emergency Relief Fund to help local residents who are struggling in the economic fallout from the pandemic. Donations will support relief programs and services to help our friends and neighbors with childcare, utilities, rent, mortgage assistance and other basic needs.
Donations can be made by texting ONELANSING to 41444 or by visiting Tinyurl.com/OneLansing. After you make a donation, you are encouraged to share it on your social media feeds using the hashtag #OneLansing to urge others to join this important cause. Donors are encouraged to give today during the lunch hour – 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. or during happy hour – 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and their donations will be matched by Lake Michigan Credit Union and CG Financial Group, respectively.
