Employees at MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) raised $44,627 for local charitable organizations during the first three months of 2020, in keeping with the Credit Union’s mission of giving back to the community.
Each year, Credit Union employees select four local charities to support through a yearlong fundraising initiative. This year’s charities in Greater Lansing are Capital Area United Way (CAUW) and Helping Women Period. Each organization received $11,156.
“Now more than ever, these organizations need our support,” said Silvia Dimma, MSUFCU Chief Human Resources Officer. “Many nonprofits are struggling to meet clients’ needs all while having to cancel crucial fundraising events. We are proud of our employees for providing continued assistance to our charity partners as we are all in this together.”
“We are all in this together. We are all affected by the COVID-19 crisis and its many challenges,” said Nick Lynch, CAUW Vice President of Fund Development. “Through giving, advocacy, and volunteerism, the MSUFCU family has continually supported the work of Capital Area United Way and dozens of other nonprofit and community organizations. That support has strengthened our programs over the years so that we can be strong for our community today. To the employees and leadership of MSUFCU: Thank you. You are making a difference. Keep it up.”
“With MSUFCU’s generous donation, we will be able to cover 318 people’s menstrual needs for an entire year,” said Lysne Tait, Helping Women Period Executive Director. “Thank you so much — it was quite a welcome surprise during this time of upheaval.”
