To support mid-Michigan residents impacted by COVID-19, Horizon Bank has made a donation to Greater Lansing Food Bank (GLFB) that will help provide 15,000 meals to those facing hunger.
It is with donations by community partners, like Horizon Bank, that GLFB can continue responding to the pandemic through increased drive-through mobile food distributions and several pop-up produce and dairy distributions. Thousands of people have recently found themselves out of work or facing additional challenges to accessing food because of COVID-19. Through donations like Horizon Bank’s, these additional food distributions can reach more families and individuals who are facing hunger with the nutritious food they deserve.
“Horizon Bank has a long history of supporting Greater Lansing Food Bank, but during the COVID-19 crisis, increased support is imperative,” said Chris Nugent, Horizon Bank’s market president of greater Lansing. “Getting meals out to our community to fill their basic needs is critical to keeping our community strong and healthy during this time.”
“As our communities continue to cope with the effects of COVID-19, GLFB and our community partners, like Horizon Bank, are dedicated to working together and addressing food insecurity in mid-Michigan,” stated CEO Michelle Lantz. “Because of this donation, we will make a significant impact in serving and feeding families in need in our communities.”
