The Dart Foundation provides a $24,000 grant to go toward the remodel of the kitchen at Angel House, a mother/baby residential program in Mason, Michigan.

Angel House is one of only two mother/baby programs in Michigan for teen moms. The kitchen remodel aims to create a mom, baby and toddler-friendly space, including new cabinets, countertops, an island, and seating and tables for all.

“It was really great to come into the house and see all the girls and their children making cookies together around the island,” said Jennifer McMahon, division director of Child and Family Charities.

Headquartered in Mason, Michigan, the Dart Foundation is a private family foundation established in 1984 by William and Claire Dart. Mid-Michigan serves as the focal point of the Dart Foundation’s philanthropic efforts.

“I have dreamed of having a space that built a sense of community among the girls in the house,” said Julie Thomasma, Ph. D, executive director of Child and Family Charities.
