Kaine Diver has been with Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan for two and a half years. The agency, located in East Lansing, recently became a family business: His older brother, Jake, joined him as a co-owner in September of 2017.

“We always wanted to work together, and we’ve been talking about going into business since we were kids,” said Kaine Diver.

It’s the culmination of a lifelong dream. After leaving a position in Florida, Jake Diver moved back to East Lansing in August of 2017 and completed agent training. He is now licensed in Property/Casualty and Life/Health insurance. Jake thinks his experience in other states and as a manager of a Fortune 1000 company will only enrich the Diver Agency.

“Kaine and I both enjoy helping people, and enjoy doing it every single day. While we each have our own approach and strengths, what we have in common is a genuine love of helping people,” said Jake.

As agents, the Diver brothers have opposite personalities that seem to complement each other. Jake brings management and team-building skills to the table, while Kaine brings organization and connections. Together, they are a competitive force. The co-owners come from a family that includes a long-line of entrepreneurs and farmers.

Their mother is a successful businesswoman who owns a salon, boutique, and online workout website. Their father retired from Ford Motor Company, works on the family-owned farm, and owns a Martial Arts studio. Their family history of farming extends even farther back.  After serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, their grandfather returned home and eventually started his own farm--eventually expanding to nearly 3000-acres. It is still operated today by two of his sons. As their own business moves forward, Kaine and Jake are proud to continue a family legacy, Farm Bureau tradition, and the realization of lifelong goals.

“Now we are at a time in our lives where we can give back to people, put all of our hard work/education/values together, and carry on our dream,” said Kaine.

The Diver brothers who grew up in Deerfield, Michigan. Both graduated Deerfield High School at the top of their class. Kaine graduated from Michigan State University. Jake earned his degree from Spring Arbor University.
